Program Facilitator

Job Description

Reporting to the Program Manager, the purpose of the Program Facilitator - Sexual Reproduction Health Rights (SRHR) role is to provide sound technical support to strengthen and advance a gender transformative to the Zimbabwe project that is funded by Plan International Finland and integrated as part of its Program Framework (with the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs - MFA), My Body My Future 2 - MBMF2, which is expected to run from 2022-2025.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Testing and rolling out Plan International's guidance and tools for advancing key components of SRHR include those related to 1. SRHR education, information, and skills-building; 2. Quality Adolescent and Gender Responsive SRHR services; and 3. Community and societal support for SRHR.
  • Coordination and implementation of technical support visits to SRHR projects, including planning, reporting, and documentation. This includes aligning with strategic MBMF2 Programme goals using participators approaches, and mainstreaming gender and inclusion into programming and influencing work. In addition, responsibilities also entail effective support in the monitoring of annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly budgets related to SRHR activities, together with Programme Manager.
  • Working alongside other Plan project staff and implementing partners working for Zimbabwe project to provide advance deeper technical support on gender transformative SRHR. This also entails follow-up activity progress reports.
  • Support the development of training manuals, guidance documents, and toolkits on adolescent SRHR.
  • Development of capacity building plans and providing training, coaching and mentorship on gender transformative SRHR to program staff and partners in Zimbabwe.
  • Identifying and building opportunities and as well as strengthening project partnerships to advance adolescent SRHR and gender equality in Zimbabwe as well as in project areas.
  • Mapping and analysing operational contexts and trends to inform programme development and improving upon our SRHR practice in Zimbabwe.
  • Documenting and facilitating consistent learning and sharing of good practices among staff and partners.
  • Contributing to Plan International's regional and global SRHR network as required.
  • Promotes and abides by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to: Gender equality mainstreaming, Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct and the related mandatory reporting responsibilities.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Educated to University Degree or equivalent in relevant field or relatable experience.
  • At least 5 years proven experience within the development sector in SRHR (experience in both development and humanitarian setting desirable).
  • Strong expertise on gender transformative programming and good understanding on intersectionality and inclusion.
  • Experience in providing technical support and oversight to adolescent SRHR programmes.
  • Experience in capacity development of project staff; strong facilitation and training skills.
  • Ability to plan work and meet deadlines when working under pressure on several projects.
  • Experience of working for an international organisation and with local partners.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; Ndebele and Shona are an asset.
